Want to keep some folks under the radar while enjoying HUD? Our "Hide My Contacts" feature has got your back! 🚫 Share your device’s contact list with HUD, pick a contact to block, and we'll try our best to keep those accidental digital run-ins at bay. 🙅♀️
Noteworthy Points about This Feature:
- 🤐 Blocked contacts will be blissfully unaware they've been blocked.
- 🤷 Blocking doesn’t mean they have a HUD account.
- 💌 Blocking won’t affect your current matches or messages.
- 🤔 If the blocking info doesn’t match their HUD info, we might not be able to prevent seeing each other.
- 🚷 "Hide My Contacts" can stop sharing contacts whenever you choose.
- ➕ Manually add a contact using the "+" in the top right if needed.
Blocking a Contact: How-to Guide
1️⃣ Open HUD and tap the profile dashboard icon.
2️⃣ Journey to “App Settings.”
3️⃣ Scroll down and tap “Hide My Contacts.”
4️⃣ Give HUD permission to peep your contacts.
5️⃣ Under “Contacts,” pick your secret-keep-away targets from your list.
6️⃣ Manually add a contact with the "+" in the corner if needed.
7️⃣ Hit "Hide Contacts."
While using, we’ll snag your contact list each time, keeping the info (name, email, and/or phone number) of those you've chosen to block. 🤖
Can I Manually Add a Contact? Absolutely! If sharing the whole contact list with HUD isn’t your jam, or you need to block an unsaved number:
- Follow the steps above (1-4)
- Hit the + icon at the screen’s top.
- Type in their details and tap “Done.”
Unblocking & Disconnecting Contacts How Do I Unblock Someone?
- Navigate through HUD > profile icon > “Settings” > “Hide Contacts” > “Hidden” tab.
- Give “Unhide” a tap next to the contacts you wish to unblock or choose “Unblock All” in the top-right menu. 🚫➡️✅
How Do I Stop Sharing My Contacts with HUD?
- Follow steps 1 - 4 above.
- Tap the top-right menu icon.
- Choose “Disconnect Contact List.”
Disconnecting doesn’t alter your current block list; they’ll stay blocked until further notice. 🛑🔐
How Does HUD Process My Contact List?
Upon opting in, we’ll use your list to speedily enable your blocking choices. Post-use, we retain info for those blocked to aid in preventing unplanned interactions. 🛠️🔒
